Fall!

We’ve had a busy fall so far – the boys are having fun playing in the leaves, going to see the band play at football games (so convenient to have the stadium at the end of the street!), and fighting us like crazy about wearing coats now that it’s cold outside (putting Mitch in a coat is a full body workout – he HATES it!).

Mitchie’s continuing to chat up a storm – some favorite phrases:
“I love it, it’s my favorite” – about EVERYTHING.  The other day he told me that he loves poop.  It’s his favorite.  Seriously.

"Mom, you want coffee?" Every time we drive by Dunkin Donuts.  Then he'll say, "No thanks.  I don't want any coffee.  I good."

“Let’s pretend” – he says this all the time but I don’t think has any idea what it means – just copying Finn.

“Sounds good to me!”  The other day I told him where we were going as we were getting in the car and he said…”Errands then playground, sounds good to me!”

Loves saying big boy words like “already” and “because”.  And uses them totally out of context, which is so cute and funny.

He loves to cuddle and whenever I snuggle up with him on the couch under a blanket he laughs and says “ooooh!  This feels good!” J

He loves singing Daisy Daisy before bed and likes me to pedal his feet like he's on a bike while we sing.

Finn’s mind is also working overtime as usual.  He’s started finding “Aunt Ali Treasures”, which can be anything he finds on the ground (e.g. a piece of an old chain he found at the football game).  We say that Ali must have left that special thing there just for him to find.  He loves this and keeps all of his treasures in the little zipper pocket of his backpack.  He’s also started praying to Aunt Ali and the “angels”.  He asks them to help him fall asleep because he’s constantly getting into trouble by getting out of his bed 100 times before he actually falls asleep.

He’s obsessed with a book Drew got him about an arctic expedition and all the adventurers that went on the trip.  He loves pretending to be an arctic explorer.  The leader of the expedition in the book is named Shackleton.  One day I heard him pretending to be “Backleton”, an arctic explorer.  J

His brain works just like Drew’s and I love hearing the things he’s thinking about and the things he invents (engineering intricate ramps for his cars, specifically describing how a pretend scenario is going to go before we start, etc.).  He likes things done in a very particular way and gets really frustrated when things don’t go exactly as he has planned them in his head.

They're growing up so fast it's hard to keep up!  Both loving school and doing really well.  I'm so proud of them and feel like a really lucky mama! :)
