Rock and jam

After his bath tonight, Finn was standing in his room naked with his towel on his head and said in very serious/rapper-like voice "rock and jam, rock and jam, rock and jam and rock it out" Then looked at me very confused and asked "where did that come from?"

Finn fell asleep tonight with his head lamp on.

Today, finn woke up from his nap in his perpetual state of confusion over what time of day it was. He's always thrown off by his nap, thinking when he wakes up in the late afternoon that it's actually morning and he's coming down for breakfast.  I was explaining to him that it wasn't breakfast, we were just having a little snack. He was asking about "yesterday" when we had played basketball at the rec center (which was actually just this morning) and I said, "no buddy, that was today, not yesterday. You just woke up from your nap and we're having snack and dad will be home in a little while for dinner time." He sat there for a minute processing what I had just said. Then he said, "Oh! That's great news!"

Mitchie is learning so many new words, it's hilarious! Today while we were driving, I sneezed and he said, clear as day, "bless you mommy!"  He hit finn on the head with a hockey stick today and said (as he was hugging Finn and kissing his head) "sorry finny, love you".  He says "thank you mommy" or "thank you finny" 6000 times a day any time you do anything for him.  Lately, the boys have been yelling at each other. Often, mitch has no idea what he's even yelling about, but he thinks he should be mad and cranky like finn so he just yells "no!"  And finn gets upset thinking that mitch is telling him he can't do something. So I tell him not to listen to him and that mitch is not the boss.  He and finn got into a little yelling match earlier today and I heard mitch scream "no finny! No boss!"

Finn: Hey mom, did you know I'm very important? Dad told me that a long time ago.
Me: you're right. You're very important to a lot of people.
Finn: like grandma and papa and yaya and auntie and mr. Campbell (our neighbor)?
Me: yep.
Finn: am I important to all of these people that live in these houses? (Gesturing toward 2 giant apartment complexes)
Me: well, those people don't really know you.
Finn: let's go there and I will knock on all the doors and say "hi! I'm finn! What's your name?" Then I will be important.
