Last day of summer

On our way to a hike at the Miller Nature Preserve...

Mitch - Mom, I wonder what clouds taste like.  Man, I really wish I had a jetpack to go up there and find out...

Later in the afternoon...

The boys made a booby trap for Drew in his bed.  They put legos and confetti all over the bed and then hid it under a blanket.  They wanted me to take video of his reaction.  Mitch said "the legos will hurt more if he takes his shirt off.  Mom, tell him to take his shirt off before he goes to bed.  You can tell him you want to check out his abs...and that's funny because he doesn't even have any!"

Gray is pretty much speaking in full sentences now.  He spilled my coffee everywhere on purpose the other day and I was not happy.  About an hour later he hugged me and said "sorry mommy.  Touch coffee.  Mess."

He asks for "bandaid stickers" anytime he gets a boo boo and even for his diaper rash.

Yells "I running!!"  As he runs around the house w the boys.

Loves to dance and copy everything mitch does.

Says, "bye honey! Keeful!" (Careful) In the morning when drew leaves for work.

Keekoo - thank you

Shim or Shimmy - Finn/Finny

Neena - banana

Seagull - cereal

Cancake - pancake

Kahcorn - popcorn

Monsa monsa or bounce-a bounce-a - anytime he wants to bounce or rock or jump

Looooovea his uncle Dave and uncle Dooda and uncle mitch.  And talks about them nonstop, along with auntie, geema (grandma), papa, and yaya.

Things I want to remember about Gray

Oh man, I've been terrible about jotting down all of my Gray memories and the time is just flying by. Here are a couple of things I don't want to forget!!

Gray is 19 months and talking like CRAZY.  Some of his words:
"Gee" - Squirrel
"Bu" - Up (when he wants you to pick him up)
"Choo choo" - obsessed with Thomas the train
"F F F F" - Finn
"uncle mitch!"
"gentle"
"nice"
"nina" - banana
"unch" - lunch/baby food pouches
"No like it" - This is a new one from over the weekend.  We were at Arthur's Shoe Tree buying shoes with grandma and they had a giant stuffed teddy bear in the kids' section.  He "no like it". :)

Gray loves to be outside, loves to read books, and above all - loves to be around his big brothers.  He and Mitch have the most hilarious relationship that vacillates between torturing each other and adoring each other.  They wrestle around like a couple of puppies all day and I'm pretty sure Mitch doesn't consider Gray as being a baby - or even as being younger than him.  He's just another play buddy to him.

Finn and Gray have a totally different relationship.  Finn is definitely the big brother - giving him toys, getting him snacks, and putting him up in his high chair for mealtimes.  He loves watching him for me while I take a shower and is always so gentle and sweet with him (unless he rips his homework - then all bets are off).

Gray does an amazing celebration dance every day when Drew gets home from work.  He screams with joy and runs in place as soon as Drew comes through the door.  He is IN LOVE with his dad.  They are best friends and Gray seeks him out at every possible chance.

I know there's more - but I just wanted to take a quick snapshot of how he is right now...because he's simply perfect and we all adore him.  He'll be a big kid before we know it and I wish I could just freeze things right now.

Mitch continues to crack everyone up with his hilarious one-liners.  He loves movies and tends to watch them 3-4 times each.  On the first viewing - he is watching for fun and taking it all in.  On the second, third, and fourth viewing - he's studying them.  He picks up every line, every joke, every movement, and every detail.  And then he unleashes them later when you least suspect it.  And he uses the jokes and one-liners with the most perfect timing.  He always has all of us laughing.

Finn, on the other hand, is much more serious.  He's always taking everything in and doesn't miss a thing.  He's always listening and analyzing and tucking things away.  He has 1000 questions a minute and talks and talks and talks.  He's full of stories about his friends, and soccer practice, and everything else.  He's definitely asserting himself in our family as being a leader and wants us to know that he's capable of being part of important conversations.  He's loving soccer and constantly begs us to play outside and take him to the park so he can practice.

Ok - quick ending here - have to run off to take everyone to school!  More soon (hopefully!)
