We had a great time picking out our pumpkins this morning. Finn had fun running around and chasing a black cat all over the place. He has been coming up with some really funny sayings lately. My personal favorite is when he tells us "in ten minutes" when we ask him to do something or tell him it's time to go. He is constantly asking Drew "coming Dad?" ("are you coming") when he wants to go down in the basement or into his play tent with Drew. He doesn't like it when the lights are off in the back hallway and usually comes running back in, telling us "it scary". If either of us is eating something he wants, he will chase you around or climb up into your lap, opening his mouth and saying "some? some? some?" (as in "can I have some?"). He pronounces r's on the end of words like "oy", which leads to some funny words like "moy" for more, "coy" for car, "doy" for door and my favorite, "tinkle tinkle stoy up high" (his version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star - it's the cutest thing ever). I gave him some options for Halloween costumes this morning and he is very excited about being a monkey. He even chose this over being a dinosaur ("dinosoy"), so I knew it was the one!
Mitch is getting to be such a big boy! He's rolling all over the place now and can really push himself up high when he's playing on his tummy. He likes the exersaucer, but gets tired rather quickly. We have also noticed that he doesn't like lying on his back and lifts head up to look around. The play mat is a thing of the past, since he can just roll right across the room now. He's quick too, I stepped out of the room the other day and found him halfway under the couch! I also caught him gazing at himself sucking his thumb in the little mirror on his play mat. Loves that thumb! He is making lots of sounds (blowing bubbles with his mouth and babbling "mamamama" - I like to think he's saying mama, but he really just likes to hear himself make noise). When he gets tired, he gets really silly - laughing/smiling/making a crazy screeching squealing sound. He's quite a character!
